Wutaishan Travel

Wutaishan, or “Mt. Wutai”, means five-terraced mountain and refers to the five flat peaks in the area. Wutaishan is considered the best established of the four Buddhist holy mountains.
It is the holiest of the sacred peaks and is dedicated to Manjushri (or Wenshu Pusa), the Bodhisatva of wisdom and virtue.
Wutaishan is a summer escape destination for Beijing and Taiyuan residents as the temperature on the mountain is much lower. With a 3 days Wutaishan tour you can see the essence of the mountain. A Beijng Datong Wutaishan tour usually take 6 days.
It’s easy to get to Wutaishan by car from Beijing with a journey of about 5 hours.
Please check our Wutaishan transportation page for how to get to Wutaishan, and the Wutaishan travel tips page to get details of Wutaishan weather, admission fee, and more details.
